B4 Outdoors is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (NPO). What exactly does that mean? Simply stated, it means that it is organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is exempt from federal income tax. As such, any donations made to the organization are also tax exempt.

NPO’s are organized for purposes other than generating a profit. All money earned or donated is used in pursuing the organization’s mission objectives and in keeping it running. NPO’s exist to further a social cause and provide a public benefit. Enough of the legal jargon except to say that B4 Outdoors meets all federal and state requirements.

B4 is a service organization. We provide veterans, first responders, and law enforcement officers with transformative outdoor experiences through hunting and fishing adventures. We also provide opportunities for youth to foster and nurture a love and respect in them for the outdoors and all it has to offer. A lot is involved in making this happen, generating significant operational costs: leasing land, purchasing and maintaining supplies and equipment, vehicle costs, maintenance of the lodge, food plot management, sustaining clients in camp and at off-site adventure locations, insurance, marketing, and the list goes on.

It is always a challenge to make ends meet, yet we have been blessed beyond measure. We are beginning our 7th year of operation and look forward to many more. Needless to say, generating sufficient funds to cover all operational costs and to invest in the future is our biggest challenge. Our focus is not to make a profit. Any funds that are available after all expenses are covered are reinvested in B4 by upgrading equipment, investing in our infrastructure, and funding future adventures.

We have several individuals who provide monetary donations. Many businesses donate to support our annual golf tournament. Other businesses donate gifts in kind to be used for raffles and prizes at the golf tournament and on-line raffles throughout the year. We even have several like-minded outfitters, boat owners, hunting clubs, and landowners who have volunteered their time, skills, equipment, and land to host hunts and fishing trips at no cost to B4. We have also received a few grants for specific projects. Lastly, we have had many volunteers come to the lodge to help complete work projects.

All of these contributions have allowed B4 to realize success over the past 6 years. We have grown from 8 mission clients in 2018 to 24 in 2023. We have plans to double that number, but it will take more resources. We invite you to join us in this most worthwhile mission of giving back to those who sacrifice in serving our communities and our nation. Some say the thrill is in the hunt. At B4 Outdoors, our thrill is seeing rehabilitation realized. It is a passion for us.
